【Objective】
We are a community wind orchestra based in Imizu City, Toyama Prefecture. As the declining birthrate continues, it is becoming more difficult for schools and communities to maintain music and band activities. We hope to create more opportunities for children to experience music and musical instruments beyond the boundaries of schools and communities Through rehearsals, concerts, and competitions, we want children to build friendships that will last long into adulthood.
With this in mind, we are forming a Junior Band (Junior Wind Orchestra) so that children can enjoy various musical experiences and instruments together with Plaisir members, make new friends, and grow through music. We hope it will become a place where elementary school students can encounter wind music, try instruments, and discover the joy of music.

We are currently recruiting new elementary school members.
(Elementary school students from all backgrounds are welcome.)
(We also hope to hold mini-concerts and instrument experience sessions by our members from time to time.)
Band Activities
We are a junior Wind Orchestra that aims to learn and share knowledge and enjoyment of musical instruments and music with new friends through daily practice, concerts, and participation in ensemble contests and brass band competitions.
The instrumentation is in the form of a wind orchestra.
Recruitment details
Open to students from the 1st grade of elementary school to the 3rd grade of junior high school who own an instrument.
Both experienced and inexperienced players of musical instruments are welcome.
Membership fee is 1,000 yen/month.
Accepted instruments (flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, horn, euphonium, tuba, percussion, and other special instruments)
Percussion instruments can be used by the orchestra.
*Percussion instruments may be lent depending on the instrument, so please consult with us.
If you are able to borrow an instrument from your school, please make sure to obtain permission from your school or teacher.
Depending on the number of applicants, we may stop accepting applications for each instrument part.
Practice Details
Training will be provided by members of Toyama Plaisir Wind Orchestra.
Practice will be held at the Daimon Sogo Kaikan in Imizu City. The practice program is designed and prepared so that children who are beginners can participate without any worries.
Practice is held every Saturday morning, allowing members to become familiar with music and deepen friendships with other members of the group.
Parents must accompany their children to practice.
Parents are also welcome to attend social gatherings where the members can get to know each other.

As the declining birth rate continues in Toyama Prefecture, it is becoming increasingly difficult for schools to maintain their club and extracurricular activities. In this changing environment—where activities are being reorganized or shifted to the community—we believe that the role of a community wind ensemble is not only to enjoy music ourselves, but also to contribute to the region and pass on the value of music to future generations.
Children today benefit greatly from having a wide range of interests—sports, music, hobbies, and academic pursuits. These experiences help broaden their world and empower them as they grow. Among these, music is something they can enjoy throughout their lives. It spans countless genres and serves as a universal language and a tool for communication across cultures. We believe that wind band music is an ideal introduction to music, providing a foundation for exploring jazz, pop, rock, and many other styles.
By sharing with your children the joy you once felt through music and playing an instrument, you can become a role model for them. We hope they will take a glimpse into the world you once admired and enjoyed. We want children to know that there are many different paths to explore, and that they should not fear failure. We also hope they will find friends who share their interests—friends they can grow with for many years to come.
We hope that our activities can help create such opportunities.
